A Touch of Class


A variety of performances by students of UWC Mahindra College took place at the Mazda Hall in Pune on 23 March 2011.


Tomoko, Benjamin, Eun-ji, Yerang, Yuefan - pianists
Matthew, Hana, Shaked -  vocals
Karanjit, Raunak, Guillaume, Mette, Margit - other instruments 

In a programme of Beethoven: ‘Pathetique’ Piano Sonata (2nd Mvt.); Mendelssohn: Rondo Capriccioso Op. 14; Karol Symanowski: Mazurka Op. 50 No. 1; Philip Glass: Metamorphoses; H. Necke: Csikos; F. Schubert: Der Krahe from Winterreise; Rolf Lukowski: Der Herbstmond Scheint; Joni Mitchell / Charles Mingus: Dry Cleaner from DesMoines; Original compositions for piano and other instruments and also some jazz and popular songs.

The students of UWC Mahindra College are selected from all over the world to become part of a truly international community of talented and interested people. Being part of the UWC movement and living a hectically busy life both academically and socially, the students who manage to maintain their musical discipline display an exceptional initiative and vigour.

The concert at the Mazda Hall gave an opportunity for these students to display their talent in public.
